Diane Robinson
Kia ora, my name is Diane Robinson. I’ve long been aware that my profession (accountant) has a bit of a dull stereotype. Hopefully my debut novel “Hive of Lies” will help change that. The main character is a 27 year old female auditor who uncovers fraud. This is a cozy crime mystery. Growing up in New Zealand I consumed via books, TV, movies etc. a steady diet of UK and USA crime. Fortunately awareness of and also the output of NZ writers seems to be on the increase. “HIve of Lies” is set in Auckland , which is NZ’s largest city and my home. We are on an isthmus, so are blessed with an Eastern (Waitemata) and Western (Manukau) harbour. I chose the manuka honey industry as the business background for my novel because it gets a lot of media attention. Researching bees was fascinating. Each has its role to play for the good of the colony. There is something very absorbing and soothing watching bees at work. I hope you enjoy my first published novel. Thanks for reading this page.
