Emma Williams
Emma Williams worked in NHS forensic psychiatric services before becoming a writer. Her first short story ’How to be Normal’ appeared in the anthology ’The Most Normal Town in England.’ She has been listed for many short story awards: ’Best Served Cold’ won the 2021 Segora International Prize. She enjoys walking in the woods, mammal watching and visiting lighthouses. She lives in Shropshire, UK. The Tortoise is her debut novel, it is a murder mystery about friendship, betrayal and revenge told with dark humour and occassional satire. It features an amateur sleuth, a gay detective and a retired doctor. Also a tortoise.
