I’m from a little town in Idaho. It’s called Star. If you go to the main restaurant in town, Star Country Cafe, you can see these huge planters under the windows. My mom painted them with little scenes of mountains and flowers. She painted them nearly 23 years ago, yet they are still there. You can also see my great grandpa’s cowboy boots displayed as decoration. I lived on a farm with my mom, an older sister, and two brothers. The farm was a wonderful place full of tall trees, long grass, and a long dirt road that led to the main road. The entire property was surrounded by big fields on either side. The farm is where I helped my Aunt Jessie feed three baby calves, some chickens, and two ducks. When I wasn’t busy helping her, I spent time in the crick catching tadpoles and swimming in ponds. We also spent time helping stray cats that had wandered onto the property. Nowadays, I live in a bigger city with my husband and my two little boys. They are poking each other and yelling, “Mom!” as I am writing this. So, I must cut this note short before they start really fighting. LOL.
