Irene Jorgensen
As a kid, Irene Jorgensen believed that cats were girls and dogs were boys. And for many years, well into adulthood, she also believed that authors had a built-in-gene for writing books. Something she thought she lacked. Until at the age of fifty, she took a 6-week course on How to Write a Novel when she realized this was a craft one could learn. Yay! Because of her love of reading mysteries and writing stories, she recently moved from writing non-fiction (Clear Your Cravings) to writing fiction. Her first cozy mystery series is a mishmash of Irene’s favourite things. Justice. Friendship. Personality profiling. Shadow work. The television show, Psych. And at times a touch of romance. Yes, she knows–random stuff. The bottom line is the Olivia Twist cozy mystery series is about how one woman betrayed eight friends and how far she’ll go for redemption–and along the way solve a few murders. Irene lives in southern Ontario with her Cornish Rex cat–an affectionate little guy who only bites her when he’s hungry. He’s the inspiration for the cat named Shadow in the Olivia Twist books.
