Jacqui Black
Jacqui Black is a British author who hails from the picturesque West Country. Having discovered the books of Agatha Christie while at school, she spent much of her formative years watching innumerable classic black-and-white mystery films of the forties, fifties and sixties, a pastime she has never tired of. Among her favourites are the 1963 verson of ’Murder at the Gallop’ (adapted from Agatha Christie’s novel ’After the Funeral’) and the 1964 version of ’Murder Most Foul’ (loosely based on Agatha Christie’s novel ’Mrs McGinty’s Dead’), both starring Margaret Rutherford. This may, in part, explain her passion for the ’cosy’ detective genre. After a career in commerce, Jacqui took early retirement and set about writing ’FATHOM’, her first novel. Her interests are many and varied, and include playing bridge, visiting the theatre, reading, cooking and gardening. She has travelled extensively around Europe, Africa, India, China, Malysia and the Caribbean. Jacqui Black is a member of the Crime Writers Association.
