K. Herston
K Herston moved to Brisbane, Australia from South Korea in 2011 to study nursing. During her degree she worked at a nursing home and discovered they used a lift to transport residents’ food from the kitchen to the residential level. After fantasising about her own escape from her shift through that lift, the idea for Ain’t No Wonderland for Old Folks was born. In 2017, she published her first book about nursing and emigrating to Australia in South Korea. Shortly after this, she resumed work on Ain’t No Wonderland for Old Folks, and when the manuscript was nearing completion, her husband, a native English speaker, began editing it.
