When Lea Wait (1946-2019) was in her thirties and single she was an adoption advocate and adopted four daughters. Later she lived on the coast of Maine, writing mysteries and historical novels about people searching for love, acceptance, and a place to call home. She also wrote under the name Cornelia Kidd.
