I grew up in Aberdeen, SD, and until I was 18 I lived in the same house, and had traveled out of SD twice. I started college at University of Mary in Bismarck, ND and have moved around a lot since. I’ve lived in 9 states including Connecticut, Tennessee and Alaska, and too many houses to count. I finished college and graduated from University in South Dakota with a degree in music education. I taught for several years then had a baby and took a 18 years off. In those 18 years I did a variety of eclectic job including owning a yarn shop, recording a couple CDs and traveling as a folk musician, and working as a reference librarian. After being diagnosed with leukemia and having a back injury when someone rear-ended our car, I reconsidered many things in my life. In 2018 I went and walked the Camino de Santiago–800 km–in Northern Spain. Now I’m back teaching elementary music and writing books, because I can’t resist. The plot of Glazed Over occurred to me, I started writing and haven’t looked back.
